Sea Life Park Hawaii. Where the heart meets the sea. This East Oahu attraction is a place to enjoy the company of dolphins, sea lions, rays, sharks, native fish and more. With a focus on educational and interactive programs, Sea Life Park is small enough to enjoy on foot but diverse enough to be a full-day destination.

The Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you should have:

Strong customer service ability and the desire to be on the front lines of customer service
A willingness to learn on the job
A positive attitude and desire to continually learn
Solid computer skills and the ability and willingness to be trained on the programs and/or software (such as registers) to perform the job

The Role

You probably remember the amazing attractions and fun atmosphere at our park. Maybe you visited us during a school trip and couldn’t wait to come back. Now it’s your chance to be a part of the action behind the scenes, helping other guests to have the same wonderful experience that you’ve had at Sea Life Park Hawaii.

You’ll begin by completing our training program, where we’ll teach you all about working at the park and how to use our food service equipment. Your work day will generally start at or after 9am. Once you arrive at your assigned area for the day, you’ll work with the team to prep the location and begin work.

You may work in the food court, at any of our restaurants or kiosks, and on some days you may have the opportunity to work at the luau in the evening. The food service team is close-knit, and you’ll build great relationships with your team members as you all work together to create a fun, safe, positive environment for park guests.

While we're open to hiring either part- or full-time employees, we have enough work that you could get close to 40 hours per week if you’d like. However, you’ll need to have the flexibility to work a variety of days and times. On days when you’re scheduled to work the luau you won’t be done until about 8:30pm, and since we’re open 365 days per year you’ll also be asked to work some weekends and holidays.

Great compensation
In addition to a competitive hourly wage that increases when you complete training, and the potential for close to 40 hours per week, food service associates can make tips if you work as a server at the luau. Employees who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and company-sponsored life insurance. All employees receive a 75% discount on meals at the park food court on work days, and free park admission for you and your immediate family and 25% off in our retail shops every day. We provide uniforms to be worn during work hours. And if that wasn’t enough, for your 6-month anniversary you’ll also be treated to two free experiences (dolphin swims)!

To excel as a Food Service Associate, you’ll need to be a go-getter who wants to learn as much as you can in this entry-level position and grow in your role.

Since food service comes along with potential safety issues, you’ll need to be committed to always maintaining a clean, healthy, safe environment in all areas where food and beverages are prepared and served. You’ll be working with a team of other food and beverage employees as well as constantly interacting with park guests, and will need to be friendly and kind to everyone you come across.

In addition, our ideal candidate is willing to go above and beyond the call of duty, always looking for tasks that need to be completed, always choosing to jump in and help where needed, and asking for more responsibility when you feel you’ve learned all you can in your current role.
